Welcome. You're in
the Right Place.
The Furry Mortals Compass helps you see clearly, advocate confidently, and love well — through the hardest chapter of pet parenthood.
Here's how to get started in 5 easy steps.
Or you can read the complete 📖 How-To Guide.
Five Steps to Get Started
🏠
Step 1 · Home
Enter Your Pet's Name
The Home page is your dashboard. Start by typing your pet's name in the field at the top — once it's saved, it personalizes everything throughout the Compass. You'll also see your assessment score, your World Triangle, and your last 7 days of data here once you get going.
Start on the Home tab →
🧭
Step 2 · Compass
Take Your First Assessment
Tap Compass in the navigation. You'll see six sliders — each one starts at Thriving. Slide each one to the left until it honestly reflects what you observe in your pet today. Don't overthink it. Your gut knows. When you're done, tap Record Snapshot to save it.
Go to the Compass tab →
💛
Step 3 · Compass
Name Their Joy Markers
Right below the sliders, you'll see three fields labeled Trilogy of the Soul. Write down the three things your pet lives for — their morning walk, their sunny spot, the sound of the treat bag. These are more important than any score. When two of these markers are gone, use it as a prompt to reflect on their comfort and consider starting a dialogue with your veterinary care team about their evolving needs.

📓
Step 4 · Journal
Write One Thing Down
Tap Journal and write down one observation from today. How much did they eat? Did they wag their tail? Did they seem uncomfortable? One sentence is enough to start. Over time, your journal becomes the most powerful tool you have — a dated record of exactly what you saw, in your own words, that you can share with your vet.

Step 5 · Optional but Worth It
Create a Free Account
Tap Sign In in the navigation and create a free account. Your data will sync securely across all your devices — so you can open the Compass on your phone in the vet's waiting room and show them your last 30 days of data in real time. Without an account, your data stays in your browser on that device only.

A Few Things to Know
Quick Tips for Using the Compass
You don't have to do this every day. Recording two or three assessments a week is enough to see the trend clearly. Consistency matters more than frequency.
Click any bar in the 7-Day chart to travel back to that day's assessment and see exactly where every slider was. Use this to track what changed and when.
The stage cards on the Home page will light up in gold once you've recorded an assessment — that's the Compass suggesting where you are in the journey. You can also select a stage manually by clicking any card.
If something feels urgent, tap Crisis in the navigation. It will walk you through a structured pause and three questions that will help you think clearly before you call your vet.
Before your vet appointment, tap Vet Talk. It has the questions you should be asking — and the ones you might be afraid to. Bring it with you. You deserve to leave that room with real answers.
The Guide is your reading library. Open it when you need to understand what's happening, what you're feeling, or why this is so unbearably hard. It was written for exactly where you are.
Download a PDF report anytime using the button at the bottom of the screen. It includes everything — your stage, your observations, your journal, your medications — formatted and ready to hand to your vet.
